Teen Police Academy - Palm Beach Police

The Palm Beach Police Foundation underwrote the cost to host the long-awaited return of the Teen Police Academy. The week-long program was free of charge and ran daily from June 10 - June 14, 2019. Participants attended five daily sessions that included a “ride-along” in the official police boat, a tour of the Palm Beach County Jail in Palm Beach, they learned about Use of Force, Firearms Safety, Crime Scene Investigation, Drug Awareness, Water Rescue, First Aid/CPR, and Social Media concerns.

Following the week, a graduation ceremony took place on June 14th at Town Hall Chambers, and parents and family members attended. A PowerPoint presentation was shown with photos from the week.  Each graduate received a certificate of completion, a graduation medallion and their own "stick on mustache"!  A  must have for every good police detective!  Cake and celebratory cupcakes were the icing on the cake to a great week!

Graduates of the Teen Police Academy become a part of the Palm Beach Police Department family and will be invited to take part in activities with other Teen Academy recruits throughout the year.

The Palm Beach Police Academy, previously known as the Citizens Police Academy, will be resurrected in the Fall.  Stay tuned for dates and sign up information.
