Cocktail Reception Kicks Off 11th Annual Palm Beach Policemen’s Ball

(PALM BEACH, FL--) Gaye and Jim Engel hosted a kickoff cocktail reception at their Palm Beach home on November 17, 2016, in honor of the upcoming 11th Annual Policemen’s Ball at Mar a Lago on January 7, 2017.

Nearly 120 guests attended the party and were welcomed by The Palm Beach Police Foundation President and Co-founder John F. Scarpa, who presented the Engels with a commemorative hospitality gift.  Scarpa also acknowledged Monika and John Preston, Gala Chairmen, and Honorary Chairmen Mary and Mark Freitas, for their second year of service and for their leadership roles in the upcoming gala that will have a “Jailhouse Rock” theme.  Scarpa also acknowledged Palm Beach Mayor Gail Coniglio, the Town Council and Palm Beach Police Foundation Board Members in attendance, and introduced Board Member Jeff Greene, who will receive the Eleventh Annual Palm Tree Award at the ball for his outstanding civic activities and philanthropy.  

Foundation Board Co-founder and Vice President Emeritus Tim Moran introduced Palm Beach Public Safety Director Kirk Blouin, who said new security measures will soon be implemented when President-Elect Donald Trump comes to Palm Beach.

The Palm Beach Police Foundation, Inc., Neiman Marcus, Palm Beach Illustrated, IberiaBank and Linda A. Gary Real Estate, Inc.  are the sponsors of the 2017 Policemen’s Ball, which will honor and support the police and civilian members of the Palm Beach Police Department.  Proceeds from the Ball, which will remain within the town and benefit the Police Department, will fund police support programs, scholarships and grants for education to qualified police department family members; new equipment for the department, and assistance to officers in and need in times of distress.
